Microsoft Xbox One - No More 24-Hour Online Check-in and Improved DRM Policy

Good news!  It looks like all the bad press has encouraged Microsoft to change its position on the XBox One DRM and connection policy.  Just like you can on on the Xbox 360 today, you will now be able to rent, trade-in, lend, resell and give-away disc based games.

Likewise, the console also no longer requires a 24-hour online check-in to play games.  The only time you’ll need to connect is at system set-up.

Purchase options will also be expanded, with both retailer and downloadable purchase options; including the purchase of games for download via Xbox Live on day of release.  In both cases, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today.

Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions, aka region-free.

This nerd thanks Microsoft for listening to its fans and customers.
