Twinkies will be back on shelves starting July 15

Hostess, the company that went bankrupt is back in operation with new owners, management and leaner operations.

In what is being called, 'The Sweetest Comeback In The History Of Ever', Twinkies will be back on the shelves starting July 15th.

Hostess will also now deliver to warehouses, instead of directly.  So you Twinkies aficionados may be able to get your Twinkies fix in more places.  When Hostess used to deliver directly, they were only able to reach 150,000 convenience stores, which is about the number of Starbucks in a small housing development.

The company also noted that they may experiment with different flavors and textures, such as crunchy, gluten-free, added fiber, low sugar, and low sodium, as well as different flavors.  Personally, I'm hoping for a low-carb stevia sweetened version.

Oh, and for those of you who have been hording the last know batches (pre-bankruptcy), Hostess says the cake's fabled indestructibility is an urban legend...Forty-five days - They don't last forever.  Of course, you're taste buds are the final authority on that.
